Terms for website services
Version: 11 October 2026
1. Who we are
Clavo Collective is a trading name of Matthew Rutland, a sole trader in the UK. You can reach me at hello@clavocollective.co.uk. My postal address is at the bottom of this page. These terms are for businesses.
2. What you get
I design, build and host a website for you, based on the confirmation email I send you after we've spoken. That email is the agreed scope. Anything not in it is extra and will be quoted before I start.
3. Price and payment
The website fee is in the confirmation email. Clavo Collective isn't VAT registered, so no VAT is added. You pay the fee in full by invoice before I start. I begin once I've received payment and the material I need from you (logo, photos and so on). I'll show you a first draft within 10 working days of that.
4. Monthly hosting and upkeep
From the day your site goes live you pay £25 a month by card through Stripe. It covers hosting, security and small edits. Either of us can end it with 7 days' notice by email. If you cancel, the site comes down at the end of the period you've paid for, and I'll give you a copy of the site on request so you can host it elsewhere.
5. Changes
Before launch you get 2 rounds of changes. A round is one list of changes sent together. After launch, small edits like text, opening hours, a phone number, prices or a photo swap are included, and I'll aim to do them within a few working days. Bigger changes, like new pages, a redesign or new features, are quoted before I start.
6. Refunds
If you cancel before I've shown you the first draft, you get a full refund of the website fee. After that, the website fee isn't refundable. If I fail to deliver the site, I'll refund you in full. Monthly fees aren't refunded for part months.
7. Your content
You supply your text, photos, logo and any customer reviews, and you confirm you have the right to use them. Where you ask me to use photos or reviews from your Google listing, you're confirming you're happy for that.
8. Ownership
Once you've paid in full, you own your site, including your text, photos and logo. I keep the right to show the site in my portfolio and to reuse general design ideas and my own tools.
9. Domain
I register your domain in my account in your business name, and the cost is covered by the £25 a month. Once everything is paid, I'll transfer it to you whenever you ask. If you already own a domain, it stays yours.
10. Limits
I take reasonable care, but I can't promise search rankings, enquiries or sales. I'm not liable for lost profits or indirect losses, and my total liability is limited to the fees you've paid me in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits anything the law doesn't allow me to limit.
11. Personal data
Messages sent through your contact form go to you. I only handle them to make the form work. Your site will include a privacy policy page.
12. Agreeing
Paying the invoice and replying "agreed" to the confirmation email means you accept these terms. They're governed by the law of England and Wales.
